Hey everyone,

We wanted to send out an update on Battle for the Belts and where things stand for the rest of the season.

This year has been a tough one weather-wise. With all of the rainouts, we’ve had to push the league back about five weeks, and at this point we’re getting into a time of year when a lot of teams already had vacations, trips, and other plans on the calendar.

Because of that, we’ve decided that the best thing to do is end the league for the season instead of continuing to try to make up the remaining weeks.

We definitely didn’t make this decision lightly. If we kept going, we were going to have several teams — including some in the Top 12 — unable to field their full team. We don’t think it would be fair for the final standings to come down to who happened to be available this late in the season.

So, to wrap things up, the Top 8 teams in the current standings will split the remaining prize money evenly (Pick up at the Pro Shop), and every player in the league will receive a complimentary 18-hole round at Southern Dunes that can be used Monday through Thursday.

We really appreciate everyone being patient and flexible with us this year. Nobody expected us to have this many rainouts, and we know none of you planned on still trying to finish the league this far into September.

We’ve also already heard some really good feedback about things we can change or do differently next year, and we absolutely welcome more of it. If you have suggestions, comments, or ideas, please send them our way. We want to keep improving the league and make it better every year.

More than anything, we want Battle for the Belts to be fun. Yes, we all want to compete and win, but the biggest goal is to have a good time on Wednesday nights, enjoy some golf, talk a little trash, have a few drinks, and give everyone something to look forward to each week.
